STYLE GURU BIO: Taylor Aloisio

My name is Taylor Aloisio and I am a junior Advertising major at Pace University and so excited to announce my second semester as a Style Guru here at CollegeFashionista! I cannot wait to bring you summer trends from all around the New York area!

Last semester as a spring Style Guru I learned about how fashion is all around us. No matter what type of clothing someone puts on their back, whether I agree with the outfit or not, it is still a form of fashion.

I read this quote the other day, “Fashion is about change and evolution based on one’s personal references and point of view. We express ourselves through the clothes we wear, reflecting our own personal style, mood or attitude. Neither loud nor aggressive, clothes should be clean and sophisticated. A designer should offer a woman the elements for her self-expression. A woman’s beauty and self should be enhanced, not defined, by the clothes she wears.”

I truly feel as if this quote is the quote to live by. When living in New York you find all types of interesting people as well as their interesting fashion sense. Every day a new outfit is worn; it can portray an emotion that person may be feeling. And that’s what I love about fashion: you can speak your mind without really saying a word.

As for my style; I like chic, I like grunge, I like casual, I like sophisticated, I like boho. It honestly just depends on where I’m going and how I’m feeling. Sometimes I like to throw on a ’90s black stretchy choker and other times I like to keep it boho and throw on a pair of gladiator sandals.

When it comes to shopping, I’m always a bargain hunter. You’ll never find me buying clothes at Nordstrom or Neiman Marcus. Thrift shops and Forever 21 are my go-to, always. No matter what, you’re always going to find me well-dressed and ready to impress.

So get ready—New York street style is coming your way, people!
