STYLE GURU BIO: Sydney Nutt

Hey there, fashionable friends! My name is Sydney and I am a senior at the University of Mississippi. I am a Texas native, but decided to stretch my wings and after my first visit to Ole Miss, I knew that was where I belonged. I am a journalism major and Spanish minor, with hopes to someday conquer the world of public relations. I am so excited for my first semester with CollegeFashionista and can’t wait to show everyone the southern styles on my campus.

To me, fashion is a way to express yourself. It is a way to show individuality and through clothing, makeup and accessories, you can tell someone who you are. As Rachel Zoe said, “Style is a way to say who you are without having to speak.” I think fashion is a great way to show your personality and for me, my clothes directly reflect that—simple but always with a pop of something fun.

There is nothing I love more than a simple, oversized sweater with a pair of colored jeans and a fun, chunky necklace. I just started to embrace the bootie trend this fall, and I am so glad I did. I think booties add an instant glam factor to an outfit, especially when they have a taller heel. I also love adding long necklaces to any outfit and I am always on the hunt for the one with the perfect stones and colors. I am all about wearing something cute, but comfortable and a sweater with jeans and boots is an outfit with plenty of possibilities.

In my pictures, you can see that I am rocking my favorite winter outfit. There are many ways to style this simple oversized, cream Free People sweater but I love to pair mine with green pants. I love geode necklaces and I thought this dark red one was great for the winter. I am also obsessed with tassel necklaces and this necklace would look perfect with this outfit as well. Like I said before, I purchased my first pair of booties this year and I love this comfortable and stylish pair from TOMS shoes. As for accessories, I am a creature of habit and wear the same David Yurman jewelry and carry the same Louis Vuitton purse everyday. I feel that they compliment any kind of outfit that I wear and the purse is the perfect size: not too small and not too big.

Well fashionable friends, there you have it. That is my personal sense of style in a nutshell. I am so excited to spend this semester with CollegeFashionista and to bring the Southern styles to life on this site.
