STYLE GURU BIO: Sydney Boothe

Heyo! My name is Sydney and I’m a Style Guru at the University of Washington studying Public Health. This will be my third year at UW and I’m super excited to have a platform to broadcast the eclectic and daring looks of the Seattle area. When I’m not hunting down potential Fashionistas/os, you can find me spending most of my free time going to concerts, making bad puns and attempting to pet every dog I see.

People have called me “Renaissance girl” because my interests are so diverse; I tend to have a hand in every basket. I played ice hockey and ran cross country for seven years each. My hobbies include writing poetry, playing piano and baking. I grew up in a farm town but live for the city life. My music taste ranges from pop-punk to indie-folk to dreamy electronica. I love video games and everything having to do with space.

My style, like my interests, definitely reflects who I am. I never have been able to narrow down my personal style to just a word or two because what I choose to wear, just like my interests, will depend on the day. Sometimes it will be grunge, sometimes classic, sometimes feminine or sometimes something new! I wear many hats (in both a figurative and literal sense) and my outfit choice in the morning is based on what persona I feel like taking up that day.

For this outfit, I decided to display my go-to: classic. I love that these pieces can be mixed and matched and never go out of fashion. Plus, no matter what persona or passion I am inclined to pursue, you can never go wrong with a timeless look.

Lately I have been obsessed with this dress, as I can wear it anywhere from class to work to volunteering all while staying super comfortable. It is perfect for the desert summers of my hometown and can easily transition with your wardrobe to cooler weather by adding colored tights and a denim jacket. This gold band choker is another go-to of mine because can be worn by itself or layered with other necklaces and is simple enough to wear with almost anything. Like the choker, these stackable gold rings are delicate and versatile.

Looking forward to a fantastic fall with CollegeFashionista!
