Hi everyone! My name is Stephanie Sanchez and ever since I can remember I have loved fashion. I remember when I was young and I would go into my mother’s closet and wear her high-heeled shoes and her colorful, jeweled bracelets while walking around thinking “I look good”. My mother even told me I would cry unless I wore a pretty dress when we went out. I’m now a senior at the University of New Hampshire and currently studying Tourism Planning and Development with a minor in Hospitality Management. I’m also a first time Style Guru for CollegeFashionista!
During my spare time I tend spend hours on YouTube watching other style or beauty gurus. But when I’m not thinking about fashion I love to travel and learn about different cultures. I also like to hangout with my friends, watch movies, going out to eat and spending the day at home with the family. I’m an easygoing person who loves to try new things and going on adventures.
As for my style I think it has many sides. Some days I’m really girly while other days I’m more edgy. It just all depends how I feel that day. I love to experiment with different looks and pieces. But no matter what I need to have some pop of color or pattern in my outfit.
Fashion to me is feeling good in what you wear and having that extra confidence in yourself when you walk out the door. It is also a chance for you to show your individuality and creativity to others. That is what fashion has given me over the past years. I tend to be shy at times but my clothes give me a chance to show a part of myself without voicing it. Looking my best and being creative with clothes has become an important part of my identity. I love sharing this part of myself with others and at times I end up helping my friends pick out outfits and giving them fashion advice. It makes me feel really good that they trust me with their fashion choices. An advice I give them, and to anyone, is to never be afraid to try new things when it comes to choosing your outfits.
I cannot wait to be a Style Guru this semester! I know it is going to be an exciting experience.
