My name is Stephanie Harrison and I can’t believe this will be my fifth and final semester with CollegeFashionista. I am a senior at Penn State University getting ready to embark on my last few months of college before heading into the real world. I’m thrilled to again be taking on the role as your personal style watcher for all the Happy Valley fashion spotted around campus this semester. Campus style is so fun because everyone is young, creative and willing to take risks. I can’t wait to start snapping away and sharing all of the latest trends Fashionistas will be sporting through the winter and into the spring months. I’ll be writing the all new WHAT TO WEAR column this semester, so keep an eye out for it!
I am an English major but have always had a passion for all things creative like fashion, interior design and DIY projects. I get a certain joy out of surrounding myself with pretty things whether it be a new bed spread or an addition to my overpopulated shoe collection. I find inspiration in so many different places and I’m constantly changing my style, which for me is a blast. Fashion is so wonderful because it is always evolving and it is so liquid that it allows you to be whoever you want to be for a day. Whatever I choose to wear, I always try to create the perfect balance of timelessness and trendiness because to me that is what creates true style. Here I am definitely channeling my simplistic side. On this chilly January day I decided to go with an all black ensemble, which I think always looks chic. By adding in different textures and fabrics in the forms of the leather paneling on my pants and the ultra plush material from my sweater that can be seen peeping out from underneath my coat, the look is more eye-catching but still totally timeless. I also love these cropped black leather boots because their versatility can be worn with elegant and funkier looks.
I think fashion is inspirational, versatile and above all, beautiful. I look forward to opening my closet each day and my goal is to get every person to experience that kind of thrill.
