STYLE GURU BIO: Stephanie Gielarowski

Style Guru Bio

Welcome back Fashionistas and Fashionistos! Another semester means more style advice from the Style Gurus of CollegeFashionista and I am more than excited to say I am again one of them for this semester! My name is Stephanie Gielarowski and I am a senior at the University of South Carolina studying International Business and Marketing with a splash of Spanish language studies. You can find me on campus as the VP of Social Outreach for Fashion Board at USC (join if you haven’t yet!), interning with Fashion Group International’s Charleston Chapter and constant job searching because again, I am a senior and that’s what we do after all! Aside from that, I wouldn’t be writing if I didn’t have a passion for fashion so let me tell you a little bit about my fashion sense!

This past week, many of us are experiencing terrifyingly cold temperatures. For me, being back home in Pittsburgh meant negative temperatures and having my mom film me throwing boiling water into the air only to see it turn into snow within seconds – it really worked. For the most part this weather doesn’t exactly mean wearing the most fashionable things; being fashionable in this weather means wearing my Ralph Lauren knee length puffy jacket, Sorel lace-up snow boots (Rachel Zoe has a pair!) and a beanie. Thankfully Mother Nature lighted up on her arctic vortex and gave me a 10-degree temperature day to show my style to all you Fashionista/os out there.

For those of you whom I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting this past semester, not much has changed with me on the style side. I still love all neutrals and the classics, but I always have to make sure I add a unique twist. Whether it be a bold red lip, a statement necklace, a pair of faux leather leggings or an oversized Rebecca Minkoff bag, I like to be different. One of my absolute favorite ways of achieving warmth and a unique style is wearing an amazing faux animal print, especially if it is fuzzy! Confession: I do have an undying love for faux animal print jackets.

It’s great to be back as a Style Guru this semester. To start out, I would like to give a piece of advice: stay unique! If my advice isn’t convincing enough, take the wise words of Coco Chanel for a try: “In order to be irreplaceable, one must always be different.” I can’t wait to report to you each Thursday with tips on what to wear for different occasions with amazing supporting visuals from you Fashionistas/os on campus!

As my nature as a second semester WHAT TO WEAR Style Guru I will leave you with this: if you aren’t a fan of the cool gray tones of the snow leopard print jacket, try the warm golden tones of a original faux leopard print jacket. Everything in the outfit stays the same but with this one simple change you gain a whole new feel.
