STYLE GURU BIO: Sophia Benoit

Hi again, fellow Fashionistas and Fashionistos! I am thrilled to be back for my second semester as a Style Guru! I am just about to finish my freshman year at Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia. Soon, I will be headed to my hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to work as an editorial intern for CollegeFashionista and showcase great street style from college students home for the summer.

Fashion has always been a creative outlet for me and I’m excited to continue to share my passion with the CollegeFashionista community. I’ve always been drawn to eye-catching prints, interesting silhouettes and anything unexpected. Similarly, I will continue to maintain that leopard print is a neutral.

As I make the trip back north, I am looking forward to sharing all the style the City of Bridges has to offer, reuniting with my friends and enjoying hours in the sun. I love all of the fun wardrobe options summer has to offer: breezy palazzo pants, patterned shorts and swingy rompers.

It’s important to have an arsenal of looks in your summer wardrobe that can easily transition from day to night, as a casual day by the pool with friends can turn into a night out in the city. One of my favorite summer looks that fits this criteria is a printed dress. Wear the dress with flip flops or flats during the day. Swap out your flat shoes for wedges to elevate the look for evening. I also love adding chunky jewelry for a little dimension and unexpected texture. Throw on an armful of bracelets and some rings and you’ve created a whole new look!

Check back here every Tuesday for more tips like these and great fashion finds from the beautiful city of Pittsburgh!
