My name is Skylar Norris and I am proud to be a Marist College Style Guru this spring. This semester I will be writing LET’S HEAR IT FOR THE BOYS every Tuesday.
I am a sophomore at Marist double majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing and Fashion Merchandising. I love the business world and I am fascinated by how it collides with fashion to create such a profitable industry. Born and raised in a small town in Connecticut, pre-college street wear inspiration consisted of madras plaid and the Lacoste alligator. Needless to say, going to school in New York with such a close proximity to the city was a great change for my ever-growing wardrobe and I.
My style cannot be described easily, as it is very multi-faceted. My closet is filled with tailored blazers and feminine ballet flats, but at the same time, bohemian-styled oversized sweaters and studded combat boots are a current favorite of mine as well. As much as I love designer labels, scouring the racks of thrift shops and consignment stores is one of my favorite hobbies. The Sunday flea market is my favorite place to find vintage jewelry, not to mention they have the best doughnuts in the tri-state area!
I am so excited to be a part of CollegeFashionista because of how much street wear inspires my day-to-day ensemble. By observing other’s fashion choices, I am inspired to keep my look ever changing. I am so excited for this semester and to bring you guys the ever-changing Marist College trends and fashions!
