STYLE GURU BIO: Siyu Liu

Hello Fashionista/os! I can’t believe it is already my third semester writing for CollegeFashionista. For the New Year, I have many plans to make it my best semester yet. Meeting more people who share the same interests and experiencing more changes to my personal style will make each week filled with joyful surprises. I also have goals to improve my writing skills and photography skills to put out better quality content each week.

My personal style evolves every year and every age. Through Style Guru Style, I became vastly interested in turning runway couture to everyday wear. For the winter season, it is difficult to figure out how to work with all clothing bundled together to stay warm. The extra layer underneath a sweater, knee-high socks and thick gloves all make a significant difference. I also recommend investing in a thicker parka that could last for years if you live in a colder climate where a coat will not sustain. Underneath, you can still have a runway inspired trendy ensemble. While staying in mostly neutrals, I like to embody some pops of color, whether in a pair of forest green pants or with a duo-toned handbag. I am also into over the knee boots for the sleek and lengthening effect.

I can’t wait to start this semester off with some wintery fashion then slowly advance to spring trends. I’m sure it’s going to be fun. Hope you all have a great start to 2015 and keep a look out for my articles every Wednesday again!
