STYLE GURU BIO: Sheryl Levitt

Greetings, Fashionista/os! This is my first semester contributing to CollegeFashionista, and I am more than thrilled to show you the trends going on around Michigan State University. With over 50,000 students roaming around campus, there’s definitely a wide variety of style here.

As far back as I can recall, fashion has piqued my interest. When I was a little girl, I would lie on the floor and draw dresses while flipping through the pages of W magazine. Before I could drive, I would beg my mother to take me to the mall so I could spend every cent of my allowance on clothes. Now, you can find me reading fashion blogs and shopping online. Most of my inspiration comes from Olivia Palermo, Negin Mirsalehi and from looks that are classic yet always on-trend.

Those who know me well call me a picky shopper. I refuse to purchase something that I don’t absolutely love. Quality over quantity is definitely my mantra. I tend to be drawn to timeless pieces that I know I’ll wear time and time again. Nothing makes me happier than finding something classic with a unique twist!

Lately, I’ve been in love with the double denim trend, or as some like to call it, the Canadian tuxedo. My favorite take on it is a midi skirt paired with a button-down. This is a great way to elevate your denim look if you’re tired of wearing jeans with a chambray shirt! A simple belt and some great heels add a nice finishing touch. Here, I’m wearing an oversized denim top with a contrasting skirt. For a finishing touch, I added a simple belt and my favorite heels.
