STYLE GURU BIO: Shannon Gibson

Hi everyone! My name is Shannon and I am a senior at Kutztown University. In another life, I was a fashion design major (I wanted to make red carpet dresses), but now I am almost finished pursuing my love for writing. Fashion is something hard to leave behind and it still holds a special place in my heart. It started off as a hobby by sewing some of my own clothing, and quickly became a way to express myself through fashion and beauty. This is my first semester writing for CollegeFashionista and I am excited to see what the semester will bring!

Fashion to me means finding something you like and making it your own. It doesn’t have to follow what everyone else believes is fashion. It can be anything you feel comfortable in. Confidence in yourself and your style really makes an outfit. It is tailored to each and every person because we are all completely different people. Every person can have a few different styles that they wear and I am for sure one of them.

I practically live in stripes (I might have a slight obsession) and the striped sweater I am wearing was a Christmas gift from my sister. I paired it with the tried and true black leggings that can always be found in my closet. A must-have in my closet is a pair of combat boots, especially once it is winter in Pennsylvania. One trend I did jump on was chokers and this one was my favorite in a pack of three.
