STYLE GURU BIO: Serena Shroge

Hello again fellow Fashionista/os! I am back and ready to roll through my junior year at Kent State University. I’m proud to announce that this will be my third semester interning with CollegeFashionista as a Style Guru! The past two semesters have been such an incredible experience for me. My favorite part about writing for CollegeFashionista is analyzing how students express their personal aesthetic through what they wear around campus. This internship has definitely improved my writing skills and helped me develop a much deeper appreciation for street fashion.

I love to constantly switch my up look, so I tend to not have one particular style. I always try to freshen up my wardrobe and wear pieces that people might not see everyday. My motto is, “Life is too short to wear boring clothes,” so I think it’s important for everyone to have fun and experiment with new trends. My favorite fall trend is a soft neutral color palette. I like to play with earthy tones and add some slight pops of color to brighten up the look a bit.

In my outfit of the day, I am sporting a light kimono vest with fringe over a classic beige T-shirt dress. The movement that the paisley vest carries in the wind is astonishing because it’s extremely lightweight and airy. I’m also wearing some stacked bracelets and a simple pair of neutral wedges. I finished off the look with a silver statement necklace that incorporates bright turquoise accents to bring out some of the light blue hues in the print of my vest.
