STYLE GURU BIO: Savannah Slaton

September 2nd, 2016 at 2:00am

Hello fellow Fashionistas! My name is Savannah Slaton and I will be starting my junior year at Kent State University as a fashion merchandising student. I am so thrilled to be a Style Guru again this semester! I am excited to start writing about the trends and different styles I see while I am abroad this semester!

I have had a love for fashion since I was in elementary school and seeing my dreams starting unravel is so exciting for me. There are many things that have become an inspiration to my style. People that have made significant impacts in my life have definitely inspired me, but most of my inspiration for my style comes from the street style of fellow fashion lovers. I am excited to see how Italy and the other countries I visit this semester influence my style and give inspiration.

This school year I get to spend the whole year studying abroad. The first semester I will spend studying in Florence, Italy and the second semester in New York City. I could not be more excited to spend the year experiencing so many different cultures and all of their different trends. It will be a year to remember.

My style is very versatile. My style includes the majority neutral colors; I do throw in some other colors here and there. One thing that I have loved to do for the past few years is to go exploring, so flexibility and comfort are an important aspect to my personal style. During the summer I pretty much live in high-waisted shorts and dresses. During the colder months I will lean towards more sweaters and turtlenecks the majority of the time as they can go with just about anything. Lately, I have been loving my sneakers. I will wear them with just about anything. My favorite part about these white adidas is the gray suede on the toe, I feel like it makes them look just a little bit different. Today, I paired my sneakers with my go-to black skinny jeans and blue and white striped button-down. For some reason, I just love black skinny jeans so much that I end up wearing them almost everyday in the summer, even when it is almost 90 degrees outside. At this point I pretty much have an obsession almost like I have an obsession with button-down shirts. I just love button-down shirts. They come in so many patterns and materials and  you can wear them with virtually anything, which pretty much means it is perfect! To finish off my necklace a add a touch of lipstick and my fabulous sunglasses and I am ready for anything, or at least Europe for now.

I am so excited to be writing with CollegeFashionista for the third time this fall semester and doing it while abroad will make it so much more of a learning experience!
