Hi guys!  My name is Sarah Groux and this is my first semester writing for CollegeFashionista. I am a sophomore at Tulane University and I’m currently studying marketing and management.  And though I am studying business, I am mainly interested in fashion.  I am from Newport Beach, California but I have spent every summer, since I turned 16, working in New York.  I have had several fashion internship experiences including working at Rebecca Taylor, Ralph Rucci Chado and L’Atelier Showroom Group.  My past internship experience and companies I have worked for have significantly influenced my style which I would describe as simple, structured and casual.

I think that minimalist outfits look put together and organized, and there’s nothing wrong with looking professional!  Though I love to dress up, my everyday outfit of choice is a classic sweater or blouse paired with tailored, cropped jeans with either flats, black boots, or VINCE slip on sneakers.  As many of my friends can tell you, I am obsessed with VINCE slip on sneakers and really all things VINCE.  And because I am from Southern California and always cold anywhere else, I also usually pair my outfits with a jacket or cardigan to complete the look.  You can typically find me wearing mostly neutrals, blacks, greys and blues.  I accessorize minimally with usually a few delicate bracelets and rings.  Couture fashion inspires me and I always stay up to date on shows when it’s fashion week.  I am constantly reading about fashion news and industry trends, so I do try to incorporate some of those new looks.

Coco Chanel once said, “Fashion fades, only style remains the same.”  I try to incorporate this quotation as much as possible with my aesthetic.  Instead of transforming my style for trends, I adjust trends to fit into my style.  Fashion is something I have always been interested in because it is always evolving.  I am excited to see where CollegeFashionista will take me in exploring new trends and further developing my own style.
