STYLE GURU BIO: Sara Masur

Hey there! My name is Sara Masur, and I am a senior at Ohio University duel majoring in Retail Merchandising and Communication Studies. I can’t believe I am going into my fourth year already at OU, and I’m excited to be interning with CollegeFashionista!

Growing up in Cincinnati, Ohio, I have always been very interested in fashion. I was always stealing clothes from my older sister’s closet and waking her up early in the mornings to do my hair. She was a huge inspiration for my sense of style and I always hoped to be trendy like her. As years went on, I became more confident in the way I dressed and developed my own look. I find my style to be a mix between edgy and bohemian-chic. My favorite outfits usually include oversized shirts, graphic T-shirts, high-waisted jeans, military inspired jackets, and Dr. Martens. Although most of my clothes are dark and neutral colors, I like taking risks with my style and I’m not afraid to wear something different.

This past summer, I had the opportunity to intern at Buckle, Inc. in Cincinnati, Ohio, where I learned the management and sales side of the retail industry. I was able to create a positive experience for customers by inspiring their personal fashion style. This summer, I have been working as a merchandising intern for A Costume Gallery in Newport, Kentucky. I’m learning the guidelines of merchandising and how to create a visually appealing store for customers. Utilizing the many opportunities of working in retail, I have really enjoyed learning all the different sides of my major. CollegeFashionista is a perfect interning experience to learn about photography and blogging. These real life experiences will be tremendously helpful once I graduate and start my career in the fashion industry.

My goal for the summer as a Style Guru is to inspire readers with my fashion advice and learn some tips from other Fashionistas! I also hope to encourage other members in my Retail Merchandising major to become Style Gurus for CollegeFashionista. I look forward to a fun summer and I hope you enjoy my blog!
