STYLE GURU BIO: Sara Lemieux

Hey Fashionistas/os! My name is Sara, and this fall I will be going into my Junior year at UCLA. I am studying communications with a minor in anthropology. I am obsessed with everything related to fashion and beauty. I just finished up my first internship in fashion PR, and this summer I will be interning at MAKE UP FOR EVER in New York City. Some of my favorite things to do are go to the beach, go hiking, go shopping and do my friends’ makeup. Growing up it was always my dream to be a makeup artist backstage at fashion shows. Some of my favorite designers include Balmain, Rodarte, Yves Saint Laurent and Chanel. My personal style is very eclectic. I will dress anywhere from California beachy cool to grungy punk rocker, depending on my mood. That is one part of fashion that I absolutely love: there are no rules and you do not have to limit yourself to one style. I am most inspired by the Fashionistas I see around campus and while exploring Los Angeles. I am very thankful to live in such a fashion forward city! I am super excited to be a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista and I can’t wait to be inspired by the other Style Gurus from all across the country!

This outfit displays my love for vintage clothing. Both the top and the flannel are thrifted, yet they’re some of my most worn pieces. I love shopping at thrift stores because you can find pieces that are super unique. As they say, sometimes one man’s trash is another man’s treasure. Paired with the denim skirt, this outfit is totally channeling my inner ’90s chick. Here’s a T-shirt and flannel that aren’t vintage but still give off the same vibe.
