Hello there, fashion freaks! I am Sanjana Champanerkar, a senior at the National Institute of Fashion Technology pursuing Fashion Communication. I find myself living in a new era of fashion with no rules! It’s all about individual and personal style, wearing high-end, low-end, classic labels and up-and-coming designers all together. From the classic white T-shirt and blue denim to wearing hideous makeup with a mix and matched ensemble—it’s all fashion! And this off step in fashion makes me even more excited about writing about Fashionistas over this course of the semester.
When it comes to my own style, I am a lover of classic wear and deeply adore outfits that are comfortable and movement free like a casual T-shirt with a pair of hot pants. It’s perfect for going to class all day and hanging out later in the nearest café. Polished looks and simple details like ruffles, brooches or minimal makeup is what I wear for a late night out. However, I do appreciate and sometimes deviate to more Indian classic wear that consists of floral prints and loose-fitting items. I love pieces and brands that can transcend time and seasons. Zara and Calvin Klein top my list of favorite brands because of their simple, elite and timeless designs.
In this picture I have put on a classic ensemble of a pearl white crisp yoke shirt from H&M and a pair of caramel brown skinny pants from Zara. I am also wearing carrot pastel red moccasins from Raefel’s (the fine leather will make you love these shoes even more)!
Two of my favorite blogs are The Fashion Squad and The Satorialist. Personally, I love browsing through blogs, websites, magazines and surrealistic creations for inspiration and to envision things with a new perspective. I plan to put this forward for my Fashionista readers.
In the words of Coco Chanel, “Dress shabbily and they remember the dress; dress impeccably and they remember the woman. Either will be called Fashion.”
