As I’m heading into my final semester of college here at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, I can easily say that my involvement with CollegeFashionista for the past three and a half years has been the best part. My dream has always been to work in the fashion industry after school; I never would have guessed that I would be able to have a slice of it throughout college while in the Midwest. I have been presented with enchanting opportunities through CollegeFashionista that have allowed me to gain skills, contacts and experiences that have already proven to be inexplicably helpful in my life and pursuit of fashion. This spring, I will continue to hold my positions as Head Style Guru for the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Head Social Media Intern for the site.
Even after reporting weekly on Madison’s street style for some time, I am still completely entranced by the amount of style I find oozing out of the systems of my fellow classmates on a daily basis. People assume that the Midwest doesn’t have style, but Madison’s eclectic array of residents prove those people wrong constantly. Fashion lives and breathes in this city, and I hope to convey that to you in my posts. This spring, I will end my run as a Style Guru right where it began: writing my Style Advice of the Week every Monday.
As a lifelong Fashionista, I have always felt most like myself in fancy dresses, sequins, feathers, high heels and loads of gaudy accessories piled on. That is why, my dear Fashionistas and Fashionistos, I wish upon you all things sparkly, leopard print and budget-friendly with a few giant rings sprinkled in. Get ready for some fabulous fashion!
