STYLE GURU BIO: Samantha Coley

Happy New Year, fellow Fashionistas/os! With the New Year just beginning, I am excited to see what new trends students will be wearing on the University of Tennessee’s campus in 2015.

This is my second semester writing for CollegeFashionista and I could not be more thrilled to continue writing for such a cutting-edge website in the fashion world.

For those of you who are just discovering CollegeFashionista or just stumbled across my posts, allow me tell you more about myself. I love to write, meet new people and, especially, fashion. Fashion is my life and I never stop exploring new trends, whether I see them on the streets or in magazines. My true obsession lies with accessories. I have been a shoe freak ever since I was little, and shoes always end up on my Christmas list. I am just like Carrie Bradshaw, so I tend not to play favorites with my shoes, but my Ivanka Trump booties are just one pair of many that stand out in my closet. One Christmas treasure that is a prized possession, other than my Louboutins, is my vintage Chanel scarf. My mom scoured the Internet to find it for me. It’s actually from one of their summer collections, but I wear it all year round since I think it is too fabulous to be put away. I also love jewelry and always have a necklace on, such as my Tennessee necklace, and at least two rings on my hands.

Since I go all out with my accessories, I love to keep my style simple. I either where mostly black, such as a little black dress and tights, or a white T-shirt with jeans. I am a firm believer in purchasing a few staple pieces that one can wear with everything and change up with accessories. That is where one’s style comes through; it is when one creates a interesting and cool outfit out of incredibly simple pieces of clothing.

I hope to see students on campus going all out this semester and I cannot wait to try new trends and styles too.

Here’s to a fabulous semester and New Year!
