STYLE GURU BIO: Sam Brittingham

Hello, Fashionistas and Fashionistos. My name is Sam Brittingham and this is my first semester as a CollegeFashionista Style Guru. I am a journalism student at the University of Florida. I love dogs (my two Golden Retrievers in particular), going to concerts, and applying makeup to my face for far too many hours in the morning.

I am so excited to start writing for such a positive platform like CollegeFashionista.

My style journey is a bit different than most, I like to think. I was never the girl who owned the best and trendiest brands. I never found the styles that most of my peers wore really suited me or represented who I was.

I am usually drawn to vintage-inspired pieces, like this short sleeved turtleneck. Outfits that make me feel straight out of another decade make me feel beautiful. Pairing these decade pieces with classic styles, like a striped top, makes for a perfect ensemble in my eyes. Above all, I love to be comfortable. Style is ever-changing, but I always seem to come back to these classic looks.

About three years ago I discovered the big, bad world of beauty. And that is when things really kicked off. I became obsessed with creating the perfect wing or a classic smoky eye. With this newfound love, I began pouring myself into both fashion and beauty and began noticing how some girls on campus express themselves through their style.

I can’t wait to share the looks of other Fashionistas and Fashionistos from around the University of Florida. Because trust me, you’re in for a treat.

Style is a personal way of telling the world exactly what you want them to know about you, and that is exactly why I love it.

My current wardrobe staples are turtlenecks, leather everything, and copper eyeshadow like you can see in the photos above.

Happy spring, all! I can’t wait for a great semester with even greater looks.
