STYLE GURU BIO: Sahana Holla

Hello all my fellow Fashionistas! Surprise, surprise, it’s your girl Sahana Holla back for another semester at the best fashion blog out there, CollegeFashionista. I don’t even know how to go about expressing how excited I am for the upcoming semester. Summer has been so needed, as a majority of us are bringing our very stressful school year to a close.

So what has been going on with me? As of two weeks ago, I am officially a third year college student at Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business. I am currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in finance with a secondary concentration in accounting. I know, wish me luck. And you ask, where do I “summer?” I am writing this post from the sunny West Coast, in the good old East Bay Area (near San Francisco, California), the land where people love avocado and say “hella.” I am quite guilty of both of those things.

However, this summer is going to be quite a different one since I will be flying back to my beloved New York very soon to spend the rest of the summer interning in the city! There are so many things I am looking forward to: spending hot days eating soft serve ice cream in Central Park, crossing off the many things on my bucket list and going to many, many concerts. As Ariel from The Little Mermaid said, “these are a few of my favorite things” and I cannot wait to spend the little time I have doing them all.

My style has definitely evolved over this past year. I am turning more and more into a true New Yorker, strictly wearing black and hard metal elements. My mother gave me her old anklet that she got from India, and I managed to turn it into a choker and it has not left my neck ever since. I know this seems like a lie considering my outfit for this post is completely light, but when I return to the city I guarantee you that I will be back in my black overalls. I have also come to love the comfy, casual style. Although my outfit says otherwise, I have ditched my cute little ankle boots for Stan Smiths and Converse.

I do not know if I will commit to this style, because of course personal style is always evolving, and after all, I am an indecisive woman. So, of course I will occasionally rock the white chiffon top and light wash jeans. Enough about me, because I seriously cannot wait to see what true New Yorkers rock this summer. Most importantly, I cannot wait to share with you all the great style I come across! Buckle in Fashionistas, because summer classes are in session. Catch ya soon, Fashionistas!
