STYLE GURU BIO: Sabrina Schielein

My name is Sabrina, and I am currently a sophomore at Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I was originally born in Brooklyn, New York, but my family moved out to Princeton, New Jersey about 17 years ago. I am a Business Administration major and am pretty involved on campus. I am on the cheerleading team and am a member of multiple organizations including Delta Sigma Pi Professional Business Fraternity, Spring Concert Executive Committee Board and the Sandy Hook Promise Organization. I could not be more thrilled to spread SJU style to my readers on CollegeFashionista this semester!

My nickname growing up was always Sabs, but when I got to college most of my new friends dropped the “s” at the end and just started calling me Sab. I am very energetic and love talking to new people, which probably comes hand-in-hand coming from a big, loud Italian family. Bubble baths and Grey’s Anatomy are only a couple of my favorite things. My beauty icons are Audrey Hepburn and Kate Middleton, among many others.

My personal style growing up was more on the preppy side, but has blossomed into an array of sophisticated/chic attire. A typical outfit I would wear going into the city would be a pair of dark blue skinny jeans, an oversized black cowl neck sweater and tan suede heeled booties (I need a little boost since I am a whopping 5’ 2”). My jewelry tends to be more on the dainty side; I love simple yet elegant pieces. A small, square satchel can complete the whole outfit and also keeps me hands-free during the day.

I am all about the “hit and miss” motto when it comes to shopping. Being open to many different brands actually can benefit you greater in the end. A few stores I mostly find myself in include Express, Francesca’s, Forever 21, Garage, H&M, Urban Outfitters, PacSun, and American Eagle. I’ve realized over the years that the bargain deal may not always be the best deal. I’d rather buy two nicer quality shirts that may cost a bit more than five lesser quality shirts because they are on sale. I notice that by purchasing this way, clothes have lasted me longer and look better on.

I hope you enjoy my articles this semester; Thanks for reading!
