As the old quote says, “All good things must come to an end.” But by returning to CollegeFashionista for my senior year, I plan to go out with a bang! My name is Rory “Pharho Xion” Calhoun and I am a Graphic Design major with a heart, eye and passion for fashion. I love and appreciate all aspects of diversity, culture and self-expression which is the driving force behind my unique perspective of style and design. I am so determined to incorporate these factors into both my career and everyday life that I am currently looking into a graduate program at the Florence University of the Arts in Italy studying Fashion & Accessory Studies & Technology. I believe that by being exposed to a place filled with so much, history, culture and art, I will have an awesome new insight and source of inspiration to incorporate into my own designs. Though I want to create and manage a successful high fashion brand, I would like to start off my fashion career as a freelance designer for major high fashion brands such as Alexander McQueen, Phillip Lim, Damir Doma, Rick Owens and Givenchy.
My experience with CollegeFashionista in the past has been incredible. Not only have I met new fashionable individuals around my campus, but I have also become more willing to approach people in general. It also has given me a blogging platform which I can build upon to showcase my personal knowledge of the fashion world and help me to branch out to bigger opportunities. This year I am going to exploit not only the awesome outfits of the individuals that I am covering, but also the development and refinement of my photography skills, product knowledge and eye for fashion.
With so much to look forward to from this awesome collaboration with CollegeFashionista, I know that this is not the end at all…it’s merely the beginning.
