STYLE GURU BIO: Robin Lis

Hi guys! I’m Robin and I could not be more excited to be a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista! I’m going to be a sophomore studying Marketing at the University of Pittsburgh this fall. My dream job is to do advertising or PR for a fashion or makeup company. I’ve always been super into fashion, even when I was young. My favorite show growing up was What Not to Wear. I’ve even met Clinton Kelly, which was such an inspiring moment.

A few years ago, I discovered a fashion blogger named Danielle Bernstein. She’s been my fashion icon for a few years; I aspire to have half of her closet one day! I think that fashion bloggers really are the trendsetters, and I admire their ability to take runway looks and make them wearable. Hopefully, I’m able to do the same and show you guys some great looks from campus!

If I had to describe my style, I would say it’s pretty eclectic. I’m pretty much all across the board; I go from preppy to boho day by day. I love loose pieces that have an ethereal feel to them. However, I also love very structured pieces such as, old, vintage camera bags turned purses. I’m obsessed with almost all ankle boots, ripped overalls and round sunglasses. Oh, and if it’s black, I’ll wear it! I love redesigned vintage looks. I think fashion is all about innovation from the past. I love outfits inspired by past decades that have a modern, edgy feel to them.

My favorite thing about fashion is the personalization you can put into an outfit. You can totally change the vibe of a look depending on shoes, makeup or a bag. I can’t wait to see what quirky, cool outfits I will see in Pittsburgh this semester. Check back every Friday to see some fabulous Fashionistas/os!
