My name is Rani Morales and this fall will be my third semester with CollegeFashionista. It’s a bittersweet back-to-school for me here at Florida State University, as it will mark my fourth and final year as an undergraduate. Nevertheless, I look forward to another year full of learning and growing, and of course, once again sharing with you all my fashion finds on campus.
This year, I’ll be completing my major in Retail Merchandising and Product Development, as well as my minors in Business and Communications. It’s really hard to believe how quickly time has passed by for me and that I’ve already contributed to CollegeFashionista for two whole semesters. I feel like just yesterday, I was a freshman in high school and yet here I am wondering how life will be in a year as a post-grad. Of course, I’ve worked hard to pave a path to my future, but I must say that I still do love spontaneity. My dream is to travel the world and experience as many cultures as I can in my lifetime and I’m hoping that my upcoming career will allow me to do that.
I love experimenting with everything and find it so exhilarating to try new things, and obviously, fashion falls under that category. In my very first STYLE GURU BIO, I mentioned my love for simple, clean and neutral-colored fashion. And although black is always the new black in my book, I’ve learned to embrace the power of color as well. My style is always evolving, which I believe is only natural with my ever-changing life. I’m constantly inspired by my surroundings and my fascination with all sorts of culture is usually reflected in my style. One day, you’ll spot me in black on black on black, and the next I could look like a Crayola box.
As for my back-to-school must-have list, I’d probably have to say that the already-famous Zara skort tops the chart. I’m obsessing over asymmetrical minis at the moment and this item is definitely one of my favorites. Pair it with a basic muscle tee and some ankle boots, and I’m all set from day to night. I guess I never really know what’s in store for me the next day, so I prefer to keep that mindset when it comes to my style. I like to keep my wardrobe constantly refreshed, but I also try to keep my look practical by wearing basics with standout pieces. Another day, another style statement.
I’m so excited to see what’s in store for me in my senior year and I can’t wait to share the amazing student street style on my campus. I’ve loved every year at FSU so far, and I’m sure this one won’t be any different. Here’s to an amazing year ahead of all of us. Be sure to look out for my weekly FASHIONISTA SPOTLIGHT posts every week!
