My name is Rani Morales and this summer, I will be returning for my second semester with CollegeFashionista. I must admit, beginning as a rookie Style Guru this past spring was pretty intimidating at first. I grew to find, though, that it has been such a wonderful experience. From discovering the range of student styles at Florida State, working on special features with CollegeFashionista, to chatting with major fashion influencers, it has been so enriching and rewarding.
This summer as a Style Guru, I’ll be traveling back and forth between Tallahassee and my hometown, Jacksonville, Florida, to cover street style. With two cities and a wide variety of culture, I’m so excited to share with you all what I find throughout the next few months!
CollegeFashionista aside, I’d say I’m just generally excited that summer is among us. Maybe I’m a little biased because I was a summer baby, but it is my favorite season after all. Besides the hair-ruining humidity and the occasional hurricane, there isn’t really much to complain about here in Florida. School is out, I can reunite with my friends and family and I have a ton of free time to do whatever the heck I want. What’s not to like?
You’ll most likely find me doing my favorite thing: being lazy and laying out seaside when I’m not working, and on a typical day, my uniform will probably consist of easy, breezy dresses, crop tops, high-waisted cutoffs and maxis. I’m mildly (AKA extremely) obsessed with my Prizzze’s at the moment and wear them on an almost-daily basis. If I’m not lying out, I’m probably eating or shopping…emphasis on the eating. I suppose this could be a good or bad thing, but I love trying new things and try to apply that idea to my life in general.
I’ve been so blessed by being surrounded with such amazing, inspirational people and being involved in some very fulfilling projects so far in my life, all of whom and which have helped me become a better person. My momentum is only increasing and I’m so excited to share my adventure with you all this summer. Stay tuned, Fashionistas/os!
