STYLE GURU BIO: Rachel Rosenstock

Hello fellow Fashionistas and Fashionistos! I’m Rachel and I’m currently a sophomore at Indiana University, majoring in Journalism and French. I am so excited to be back and better than ever for my second semester with CollegeFashionista. This past summer has opened my eyes to the world of fashion, blogging and journalism in ways that wouldn’t be possible without this internship. I can only hope to keep improving my skills as a Style Guru this fall by providing you with more awesome content each month.

My personal fashion journey hasn’t always been a smooth ride (who doesn’t have some outfits in middle school they would like to forget?) but I’m confident in the fact that I always stay true to my own personal style. One of my earliest fashion memories is picking out a pair of yellow, polka-dotted wedges at Nordstrom when I was eight or nine. I don’t know a single eight year-old who needs a pair of shoes like that, but I remember being so excited to show off my awesome, grown-up heels! I would like to think this a pretty good representation of my style today: unafraid to take risks, throw crazy patterns on and work it confidently.

This ensemble is a quintessential Rachel Rosenstock look and one I plan on reusing as soon as the weather really cools down. I’m obsessed with popping little bursts of patterns (see socks) and pairing graphics with more structured jackets. These Free People boots are well loved and for good reason: they’re super comfortable, the heel isn’t too high and they’re extremely versatile for dressing up or down. My ankle-grazing Zara jeans are currently my favorite pair because I love the flexibility of rolling the hem up a little bit for boots or showing a little bit of ankle with flats. I’m also currently obsessed with delicate necklaces, like this gold one from Forever 21. I think a chic, understated accessory like this can go with any look, whether you make it a focal point by layering three or four together or keep it simple with one.

I’m so excited to see where this semester takes me on it’s fashion journey and I couldn’t do it without all you lovely readers. Stay tuned each month for the latest, greatest and RADDEST of college style!
