STYLE GURU BIO: Poppy Anantachai

“Life isn’t perfect, but your outfit can be.” – Unknown

Hello Fashionista/os! My name is Siradar Anantachai, but I go by Poppy. I am originally from Bangkok, Thailand, but I have been living in the U.S. for over five years now. I am currently a sophomore at Franklin College majoring in business marketing and management. I am super excited to be selected as a spring Style Guru intern for CollegeFashionista!

I have always loved fashion! I am fortunate enough to have places called “home” in two different countries. Fashion in Thailand and in the U.S. are completely different. I love seeing all the differences because it tells me that fashion is not a fixed subject. It is not like math or science. It’s constantly moving and changing over time globally.

Like fashion, I don’t really have a certain style. I normally wear something cute and comfortable. To me, wearing cute clothes is more important than having my make up or hair done. Even if my hair is a mess and I have zero makeup on, as long as I’m wearing something nice and comfy, I’m all set.

Like I said, I do not have a fixed style. I can go from wearing a cute floral dress in the morning to an all-black outfit in the afternoon. However, high-waisted pants and shorts are my all-time favorites! So of course, my outfit featured in this post consists of black high-waisted jeans. Since it’s winter, I pair them with a gray, black and white striped turtleneck sweatshirt and a denim jacket. I am usually not a big fan of turtlenecks, but they are growing on me and they are certainly on trend this winter. For shoes, I wear my favorite black combat boots with gray socks, and because I love jewelry, this outfit will not be complete without a cute flower ring.

This is my first semester with CollegeFashionista, and I am looking forward to educating myself and learning from others about fashion all over the world. Thank you so much for reading this, I hope you guys enjoy it!
