STYLE GURU BIO: Peyton Schmidt

Guess who’s back, back again? Peyton’s back (for her second semester at CollegeFashionista)! Tell a friend. Hello to all of my lovely readers! Not only am I ecstatic for my second semester of college as a freshman, but I am equally ecstatic (if not more) to dive into my second semester with the CollegeFashionista team. I am a Communications/Journalism major on track to fulfill my dreams as an editor for a fashion magazine.

That being said, it is no question I jumped at the opportunity to represent my university as a Style Guru. When I discovered CollegeFashionista, I constantly stalked the various articles, drooling and dreaming of the opportunity to achieve the glittering title of “Style Guru: Peyton Schmidt.” Thus, there was no hesitation when it came to applying and excitedly submitting my mock article.

CollegeFashionista has not only helped me improve as a writer and photographer, but has also given me better insight in the fashion world. I now have a more knowledgeable understanding of famous fashion icons, runway shows and seasonal trends. Growing up I constantly flipped through thousands of stacks of thick magazines my mother would hand down to me, cutting and pasting different outfits and pieces that inspired me. Though I had unfortunately been forced to indulge in sports through my embarrassing youth, reading magazines such as ELLE or Vogue was what I was truly passionate about and good at.

From my fashion magazine obsession, my love for writing and my unwavering belief in a nice pair of heels and good lipstick, it was no question I wanted to have a career that involved my three loves. CollegeFashionista was exactly the experience I needed/need to help develop the tools necessary to one day achieve my dream job.

Though I’m not a big fancy magazine editor living in New York City just yet, I am absolutely loving my CollegeFashionista experience and enjoying the ride!

For your weekly style fix, check my page every Thursday for stylish Fashionista/os I have found on Bellarmine University’s campus. I plan to spice up this semester with lots of leather jackets, ripped boyfriend jeans, eye-popping clutches and other iconic trends happening in the fashion world. Until then, I’ll be grabbing my camera. I’m going Fashionista/o hunting!
