STYLE GURU BIO: Patricia Cacho

If someone had told my seven-year-old self that at 13 years old, I would love fashion as much as I do now, I would have probably never believed them. Growing up, I never really took interest in fashion and beauty. While other girls learned how to style their clothes and braid their hair, the only thing I cared about was playing outside with my friends. I didn’t know how to dress myself, nor did I care to learn. However, my interest in fashion spiked in junior high school. Ever since then, my love for fashion has tremendously grown!

My name is Patricia Cacho, but everyone calls me Tricia. I was born in Manila, Philippines. I lived there for about seven years, until my family and I moved to California for my dad’s job. Moving to a new environment and having to adapt to a different culture was definitely a challenge for me when I was a little kid. However, I believe that the challenges I have overcame in the past is what made me who I am today, and I am grateful to be where I am now.

I am 20 years old, a sibling to an older brother and fluent in both Tagalog and English. After being a sophomore for what feels like it lasted a week, I am officially a junior at California State Long Beach and I am majoring in health science.

If I could describe my style in one word it would be, “mine.” My style can range from minimal, to bohemian, to sporty all in one week. You will never see me limit myself to one specific type of style. As long as I feel confident and I am comfortable, I am good to go!

Although I may not have been interested in fashion when I was younger, I’ve always had a passion for it is art. I don’t paint or draw, but I do believe that I learned how to dance before I learned how to walk. When I was young, I used to take dance classes for ballet, tap, jazz and hip hop. Also, I have a huge interest in photography. Whether it be fashion photography or taking pictures of the places I’ve visited, I just love the idea of being able to capture any moment with a simple click of a button. Photography allows me to capture memories and cherish creativity. Along with finding the perfect outfit and shopping, dancing and photography has always been a great stress reliever. Lucky for me, this internship allows me to express my love for both fashion and photography.

I am so excited and I cannot wait to see what the future holds for all of the summer interns this year! So hello to my fellow Fashionistas/os, my name is Tricia Cacho, and I am a Style Guru.
