Hello, my name is Palak Mistry! I am a second year student at the University of California, Riverside. I feel that style is more than finding unique ways to carry or wear clothes—it goes beyond the surface and revives self-innovation. I am very detail oriented and have an eye for objects, people, places and things that spark my attention. I truly believe that personal style is something that transcends time and can bring various cultures and people together.
I find beauty in many ethnic and traditional pieces. I love different patterns and prints that incorporate various cultural motifs. I am in love with my Indian heritage and often find myself falling for pieces that incorporate a little flare of India. I am wearing a simple cotton top with bell-sleeves. My top has a comfort level that exceeds your everyday cotton T-shirt. Its flowy and soft material makes you feel like you never want to take it off. It feels like you’re wrapped in your own personal cloud. The bell-sleeves add an effortless touch and contribute to the overall bohemian vibe of the ensemble.
My pants (my favorite part of my outfit) honestly make me feel so great! First of all, I was very hesitant to purchase these pants because of my height. I am five feet tall and usually run into problems finding pants that fit me perfectly. Due to my small frame, I would admire and envy girls who confidently rocked wide leg printed pants. And then one day, I said to myself, “Life is short, and you are too, why not make the most out of it?”
Surprisingly, they fit, and even though they sweep the ground from time to time, I couldn’t be happier. I love the tribal detailing and simple colors that make it easy to style with almost any basic top. But most importantly, they are probably the comfiest pants you will ever walk in! I am wearing a chunky coin necklace and special silver bangles that have been given to me by my family and friends. I feel like rustic silver jewelry adds the perfect amount of sparkle and shine with a touch of uniqueness.
