STYLE GURU BIO: Paige Hardman

Hi, all! My name is Paige Hardman and I am a senior studying management consulting at the University of Notre Dame. This semester will be my sixth writing for CollegeFashionista, and I tear up at the thought of having to move on in May.  If you will indulge a moment of nostalgia: I remember reading the email that I had been accepted to this internship and literally jumping for joy. The memories that I have made and friends that I have met through CollegeFashionista will not soon be forgotten.

Not only have I met new people who are also interested in fashion on my own college campus, but I have also had the opportunity to hang out with other rad Style Gurus this summer in New York City. After interning for CollegeFashionista for six semesters and for a designer this past summer, I know that the fashion industry is where I belong. I am forever indebted to CF for helping me discover that!

As a result of the past three years of fashion writing, I have become more comfortable with my own style. The photos that accompany this article attest to the fact that I generally prefer a neutral base with a few accessories that pop, whether that be a statement lip color, some funky shoes, or bold glasses. I combined several of those elements in this look. I anchored the outfit with my favorite black turtleneck and black pants. The fishnets added texture and worked well with my black and white platform shoes.  Since it is unfortunately not quite the weather to walk around without some kind of coat, I added this emerald Dior blazer borrowed from my mom’s closet (shhh!). Rounding out the look is a pair of tortoise-shell glasses appropriate for the first day of the semester.

At school, we experience a wide range of weather patterns which allows for more possible outfit combinations throughout the year. I still pair Adidas sneakers with every outfit. My favorite color is black, I am training for my first half marathon (what was I thinking), and one of my goals for 2017 is to seriously up my skincare game. Accompany me on this journey. Looking forward to a RAD final semester with CollegeFashionista!
