I am so excited to be writing for CollegeFashionista for a second semester, this time bringing you all a segment called LET’S HEAR IT FOR THE BOYS! I will be bringing you the greatest fashions of the boys of Eastern Connecticut State University and I couldn’t be more anxious to get out there and meet all of my Fashionistos this semester.
I am originally from New York which is obviously the top dog in the fashion world here in the United States, but I have been living in Connecticut for four years. The fashion in Connecticut varies, but I wouldn’t have it any other way – that way my posts will never be exactly alike. Going into my senior year at Eastern is a bittersweet feeling, but as a Style Guru I have so many opportunities now to meet three years of male students below me and give them the opportunity to shine as a Fashionisto!
My personal style definitely changes pretty frequently; from my comfiest T-shirt and classic blue jeans to over-the-top high end looks. I love getting asked why I am dressed nicely for a class because to me that is second nature and I often find myself thinking, “Why wouldn’t I be?” People tend to mistake style for being uncomfortable but I think you can achieve both, especially on a college campus. The easiest fashion motto to live by would have to be that it is better to be overdressed than underdressed. It’s important to be yourself in the fashion world but I recently read a response to this motto that read as “No one is going to kick you out of a party for being overdressed.” That really stuck with me, because no one will ever question a great outfit or glamourous look and that is the truth.
So boys of Eastern Connecticut, we all know how much you love your boat shoes and shorts, but it’s fall now. So spice it up a little bit and lets show our fellow Fashionistos what New England fall fashion is all about!
