STYLE GURU BIO: Olivia Runnfeldt

Hello fellow Fashionistas! My name is Olivia and I couldn’t be more excited to start my first semester as a Style Guru here at CollegeFashionista! I go to school at Chapman University in Orange County, where I study education and entrepreneurship. Having just finished my freshman year, I must say that Chapman has been an excellent place for me to expand my sense of style. Not only are us Chapman women intelligent, but we are well-dressed too! The Southern California heat brings endless opportunity for testing out trends—both new and old—and taking inspiration from not only my peers, but the surrounding as well.

Being from San Francisco, I have been exposed to an ample amount of styles, ranging from the tame to the utterly outrageous. There are the ever so present “hipsters” with their glasses, man-buns and plaid. There are the “I-just-left-my-Pacific-Heights-mansion” women with their Louis Vuitton handbags and posh updos. Then there are the eye-catching “individuals” who wear their confidence as the essential component of each outfit. I’d say I fall somewhere in between them all. I love to have my own look, but I don’t like to stand out too much. I can rock the grunge plaid at times, but I also live for Louis!

To introduce you all to my style, I decided to show a go-to look of mine: awesome ripped denim paired with a white Free People tank and a black and white Free People sweater (if you can’t tell, I love Free People). To accessorize, I added pink, round Ray Ban sunnies, a black David Yurman ring and white Kendra Scott earrings. If you ask me, the accessories are what pull a person’s whole look together! Had I not been at the beach, I would have accompanied this outfit with a pair of leather sandals. My favorite part of this look is the pink Ray-Bans—they provide a pop of color and attitude to a very neutral look.

I hope you all enjoyed this peek into my style. Cheers to a RAD semester!
