It’s hard to believe that I’m sitting at my desk writing my seventh (yes, seventh) STYLE GURU BIO. Over my college career, I’ve been able to be involved in so many wonderful CollegeFashionista-related projects and collaborations. From editing to being a Style Guru while I studied abroad for a year, I have loved every second I’ve been part of the CollegeFashionista team.
As hard as it is to wrap my brain around it, my college experience is officially beginning to come to an end. I’m finally a senior at the University of Florida, and I can confidently say that I have never felt so old (do I need a cane now?). As well as feeling completely ancient, I feel so excited for the year ahead of me, which is sure to be full of exciting changes and projects at CollegeFashionista. The endless possibilities of post-grad plans are thrilling as well.
As a journalism major, CollegeFashionista was the first internship I had that really illuminated what I was truly passionate about. I’ve loved discovering the field of online journalism through a lens of fashion and style writing. Starting with my very first semester as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista, I’ve participated in other internships as well that range from fashion and beauty writing to public relations work.
It’s a truly wonderful thing to combine the things you love the most (for me: writing, fashion, social media) in different internships and realize somewhere along the way that, yes, you can make a career out of the things you are passionate about. As a Style Guru, I can’t wait to showcase the things I am most passionate about in my posts during this upcoming semester.
If I’m not writing for CollegeFashionista or one of my other internships, you can find me online shopping, trying to finish up a book, watching a ridiculous reality TV show on Netflix or planning my next big trip.
I can’t wait to make these last semesters of college and interning with CollegeFashionista (sad face) the best yet. So if you’re interested in reading about my thoughts on personal style, social media and college life in general, read on, and get ready for a lot of references to my favorite things: statement necklaces, Beyoncé and Instagram. Can’t go wrong with any of those, am I right?
