STYLE GURU BIO: Núria Garcia Arbós

Hola Fashionistas/os! My name is Núria, and I am a freshman at Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona. Last year I started studying Law, but it did not suit me. It wasn’t what I was passionate about, and it just felt like I wasn’t being true to myself. So, this coming fall I am starting an Arts and Journalism degree—I don’t know if it works the same in the U.S., but it is basically a four-year course. I want to pursue a career in the fashion industry, so what’s better than an internship with CollegeFashionista?

I don’t even know how to describe how, when or why fashion started to be a part of me. I guess it has always been, just like that annoying freckle in the middle of my cheek or my love for cheese.

Since an early age I was captivated by colours, textures and shapes and how with a necklace, a scarf or a pair of shoes, you could change an entire outfit. I admired how easy it was to create something beautiful.

Throughout the years, I’ve read, I’ve watched, I’ve listened, I have experimented with clothes and I have surrounded myself with people who love fashion, so I have learnt a lot.

As I mature, my style changes and grows with me. I’ve made awful fashion mistakes, but I’ve also have made good choices. Let’s hope today’s outfit is a win. Let’s get into it!

Let’s be honest, summer plus Spain equals heat. Although August has been refreshing, the closer to September we get, the hotter it gets. The best solution when the heat attacks is to wear a crop top. This one is from Zara and it was a bargain—it cost around 10€ which is about $12. To balance the skin exposure, I’ve opted for these white jeans, which have been my most worn piece this summer. They’re super comfortable, look good with everything and are a great mix of a smart and a casual jean because they’re white yet ripped.

The shoes were a gift from my mom and my sister to celebrate being awarded with a scholarship. Although the first day I wore them I almost killed myself, I’ve been wearing them non-stop.

For accessories, I have chosen a combination of gold and silver rings and a gold bangle, that give the outfit that “je ne sais quoi.”

This is one of the many ensembles I love to wear. Still, I don’t restrict myself to a single style, and I can’t wait to show you more! I look forward to a great semester and hope we all have a wonderful experience!
