Hi Fashionistas and Fashionistos! My name is Nina Poosikian and I’m extremely excited to be interning this summer at CollegeFashionista! I’m currently entering my sophomore year at Fairfield University in Connecticut where I am majoring in communication and minoring in political science. Over the summer I will also be interning at Isaac Mizrahi in New York City, where I will be working with their head designers and stylists. Whenever I’m not studying or working, I can usually be found Instagraming an absurd amount of food pictures or watching Sex and the City or Gossip Girl reruns.
Over the past few years, I have definitely become much more involved in fashion. During middle school and my first two years of high school, I wasn’t someone who would attempt bold fashion choices. In the past I was more willing to buy clothing that everyone else wore so I could blend into the crowd. Flash forward to the present and I have become the complete opposite. I prefer to find new pieces that are bold and different. I like to pick things that other people wouldn’t usually choose. When styling myself, I try to encompass the idea of being “effortlessly chic,” much like the pictured ensemble. I’m wearing a loose white tank top paired with dark-wash jeans, a jewel J.Crew necklace and light blue Superga sneakers. Being able to express my unique style and inspire others is one of the main reasons I am so excited to write for CollegeFashionista this summer!
I cannot wait to spend this summer interning for CollegeFashionista. Throughout my first year of attending college, I have been a huge fan of the website and am thrilled to have the opportunity to write articles for it. This summer, I will be writing the column ALL IN THE DETAILS. This column is a perfect assignment simply because I am someone who always has loved detailed pieces of clothing that stand out and complete a look. As a child, some of my favorite clothing pieces were my patterned sundresses and sweaters. Now that I am much older, I have expanded my love of detail to every aspect of my wardrobe. I’m not afraid to mix and match patterns and create a dramatic statement look.
During this summer, even though I am off my Fairfield University campus, I hope to showcase all of the detailed fashion that New York City has to offer. I cannot wait to share my newfound Fashionistas and Fashionistos with you all!
