STYLE GURU BIO: Nikki Sarmer

Hey there everyone! My name is Nikki Sarmer, and I am a HomeGoods-loving sophomore studying public relations and fashion merchandising at the University of Georgia. Here at University of Georgia, I have the best job at a local boutique and am apart of the fashion team for our campus’ life and style magazine, The Little Red Book. If you see me around campus, there is a 95 percent chance that I am drinking a venti iced coffee and carrying leftovers from Great Wrap. There are few things in this world I love more than college football, glitter and buffalo chicken pizza.

I am super passionate about fashion and the way that we can bring high fashion into the everyday person’s life. As a returning Style Guru, I decided to do things a little different this time. This past summer, I focused almost exclusively on the preppier side of my style. I featured arguably the preppiest boy I know, and I spent the entire summer in my Jack Rogers. Now, it’s time for me to show everyone the edgier side of my style. Today I decided to showcase an outfit I put together for Drake’s concert in Atlanta. I exclusively wear skinny jeans, and these high-waisted distressed black ones are amazing. I love how the distressing adds texture without showing too much leg in the process. What better shoe to pair skinny jeans with than leather Chelsea boots? I wear these all the time to make any outfit feel more chic. I paired these two with an oversized top from H&M and a black bralette from Aerie to make the outfit a little more feminine. While chokers are all the rage right now, I am all for a cheaper alternative. I decided to mimic the trend by going to Hobby Lobby and buying a 3-yard strand for three dollars and used that as my necklace.

This semester, I hope I can showcase and grow this different side of myself by drawing inspiration from all of my fellow Style Gurus and Fashionista/os!
