Hello, Fashionista/os! My name is Nicolette Pezza, and I’m super excited to be returning for my second semester as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista! I’m currently a sophomore journalism and public relations major at Monmouth University with an information technology minor.

To me, art is one of the best ways one can express who they are and how they feel. Whether it’s through traditional art such as drawing or writing, such as poetry or lyrics, art has always been the best way for me to express myself. And, of course, with that comes the form of art that is fashion.

I believe that fashion is a way most people express themselves without even realizing it. It is an overlooked way to portray a mood or personality. After all, the first thing we tend to notice about a person is their outfit.

Personally, I consider myself a very simple and laid back person which reflects in my everyday style. I’ll admit, as a college student I have more than my fair share of days where I’m dressed in leggings and a sweatshirt, but otherwise my style is usually kept very minimal.

The outfit I’m wearing here is something you’ll typically see me sporting around campus. I found my sweater at my local Goodwill for four dollars in the men’s section. It’s large size makes it the perfect comfy sweater which is a necessity for me to have in my daily wardrobe. On a typical day you’ll find me pairing this sweater with leggings, but since my job on campus does not allow them, I dressed it up with a pair of light wash skinny jeans.

I finished off the look with my favorite pair of blue suede moccasins and ivory Michael Kors scarf for the cold weather. Then I grabbed my American flag pattern backpack, curled my hair and threw on my favorite deep red fall lipstick, and was ready to go.

I can’t wait to see all the trends that are on campus this semester especially as the warm weather finally returns!
