STYLE GURU BIO: Nicole Heaney

Hey there, my fellow fashion lovers! My name is Nicole and I am currently entering my second semester at LIM College: Where Business Meets Fashion. I am a marketing major with a passion for writing, styling and social media. This is my first semester writing for CollegeFashionista. I am so stoked to share the different styles that I find all around me as I embark on journeys in New York City. I am originally from Long Island, New York, so as a kid I have been in and out of New York City dozens of times. I always knew that I would end up living in New York City someday, and here I am. I love the loud hustle and bustle on the city streets, but most of all, I love how creativity is practically oozing down the sides of buildings. I especially love the fashion I see all around me.

Growing up I always had a serious shopping addiction. Now that I am on a strict budget at school I’ve had to learn a hard lesson. The lesson being that maybe I don’t need every cute clothing piece that I lay my eyes on. I love looking endlessly through racks and racks of clothes and deciding which pieces will go together best. Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie and francesca’s are a few of my favorite stores.

When people ask me what my personal style is I am never quite sure what to say. I feel like my style is very eclectic and I am never stuck with one specific style. Although I am a big fan of wearing all-black, I do like to add little pops of color here and there to enhance the look. In the look I’ve chosen to share with you above, I decided to pair my favorite leather jacket with a maroon turtleneck to make sure I stay warm during the chilly winter months. For my bottoms, I picked my distressed black skinny jeans to add a little more edge to the look. To top it all off, I chose my chunky black booties as well as my black Ray-Ban sunglasses.

I can’t wait to share my favorite looks and styles with you throughout the semester!
