STYLE GURU BIO: Nicole Haubner

Today marks my one year anniversary as a part of the CollegeFashionista team and I can’t even explain how much this internship has meant to me. I started as a Style Guru during my second semester of my freshman year. This past summer, I kept my position as a Style Guru, helped out in the New York City office and got to hang out with the fabulous and chic Sammy Luterbach and Amy Levin. Last semester, I was a Style Guru as well as an editor, and now I’m back writing articles every Monday.

Not only have I gained great experience from this internship, but I’ve made great friends from it as well (shoutout to the talented Allie DeBor, also known as my photo shoot partner). I’m looking forward to more opportunities that CollegeFashionista has for me!

So, if you haven’t read any of my previous biographies, I am a sophomore studying Public Relations at Penn State University with a love for fashion and writing. When I was younger, I would spend hours sketching outfits and dressing my dolls every day. Today, that’s transferred to hours spent in the mall and online shopping. As Rebecca Bloomwood from Confessions of a Shopaholic would say, “You know that thing when you see someone cute and he smiles and your heart kind of goes like warm butter sliding down hot toast? Well that’s what it’s like when I see a store. Only it’s better.” No other words could describe my love for clothes better.

My crazy obsession for clothes makes this internship so fun for me. Fur vests, ripped jeans, chunky, obnoxious shoes—I love it all. I love searching for different and eccentric styles on campus and thrive off the inspiration Penn State’s street style gives me.
