I’m back in Happy Valley and couldn’t be more excited to spend another amazing semester writing for CollegeFashionista. My name is Nicole, and I’m a sophomore at Penn State majoring in Public Relations. This is my third semester as a Style Guru and my first as an editor. Watching CollegeFashionista grow rapidly for the past eight months has been a great experience and being a part of the site’s relaunch is so exciting.
I am constantly taking ideas from fellow Fashionista/os and incorporating them into my own outfits. My favorite part about being a Style Guru is the inspiration I get from not only Penn State’s street style, but students’ style on campuses around the world. This past summer, I became obsessed with DIY projects. I went on a craft binge and as a result, I made the sugar skull bracelet I’m wearing above! I like to get creative with my outfits and wear different things that I haven’t seen anyone else wear.
My style is very laid back and bohemian. I could live in Free People… actually, I do live in Free People, and my debit card is begging me to move out. The effortlessly chic look is great for me because I’m constantly running around and don’t have a lot of time to spend picking out an outfit in the morning. Sometimes, it gets the best of me. I’m honestly embarrassed to admit this, but I always lack in the accessories department. My fall resolution is to put my jewelry and clutches to good use. Simple staple pieces are my favorite because colorful accessories, like my clutch above, really stand out and add a fun element to any plain outfit.
