STYLE GURU BIO: Nicole Harvey

What’s up, Fashionista/os ? My name is Nicole Harvey and this is my first semester interning with CollegeFashionista. I am so excited to embark on this RAD journey!

Here’s a quick little background to get to know me better. I’m a freshman at Florida International University majoring in public relations. Among my favorite things are avocados, alternative music, almond milk, Friends, and going to concerts. Of course, the number one thing on my list is fashion. Ever since I was little, I was always that girl in my group of friends who would always dress different or over the top. I loved the idea of standing out and being different from other people. I’m so captivated by the way people express themselves through clothing and the progression of people finding their own style. Isn’t that so cool? As I grew older, I experimented a lot with clothes and went through several phases. Eventually, I traded in my flower-printed sundresses and sandals for black leather jackets and boots.

Fashion is something that freed me from myself. It’s given me the confidence to go out and take on the world! One of the main reasons why I wanted to pursue a career in fashion was because of the one and only Diane von Furstenberg, who invented the iconic wrap dress. She is everything I aspire to be as a woman who radiates confidence, power, classiness, and a boss attitude. Ugh, queen. From the madness of the fashion shows, the magazine issues, and the designers–I adore it all and I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for me.

In the outfit I’m sporting above, I’m wearing a blush satin button down shirt with high waisted shorts and black velvet booties.

I am so thrilled to show off more of my personal style and to be apart of the Guru Gang this semester!
