STYLE GURU BIO: Nicole Farese

Hey Fashionistas/os! My name is Nicole Farese and I am a sophomore at the University of Delaware. I am a Fashion Merchandising major, minoring in both Business Administration and Advertising. This is my first semester as a Style Guru intern writing for CollegeFashionista. I cannot wait to feature some of Delaware’s most fashionable students in my posts for all of you to see!

I have always loved fashion ever since I was a little girl. My mom says that when shopping, I would help her pick out all of her outfits while I sat in the baby carriage. Out of all of my friends, I would say I am the go-to person when it comes to fashion advice. I love helping people put together outfits and helping them figure out what their own personal style is.

As for my own personal look, I would say it is very diverse. My closet consists of styles ranging from boho to grunge and preppy. I would definitely call myself a shopaholic and I am addicted to buying sundresses. Some of my favorite stores include Nordstrom, Urban Outfitters, PacSun and Tilly’s. My ideal summertime outfit is a loose comfortable sundress, paired with sandals or a pair of booties. In the winter, my go-to outfit is made up of an oversized sweater with leggings and over-the-knee boots.

The best style advice that I could give is to pair high end designer pieces with cost efficient items. I believe it is important to spend the most money on items that will last you a long time and that you will wear frequently, like a pair of black boots or a blazer. You can then add less costly pieces to give the outfit a more facny look, without spending crazy amounts of money. Some of my favorite outfits consist of pieces I have gotten off of the sale rack paired with designer garments that I can wear almost every day.

My goal this semester is to enhance my wardrobe by exploring different trends on campus that I wouldn’t normally be interested in. When it comes to fashion, I think it is very important to be open to anything, and I am excited to see what my campus has to offer. I am eager to start sharing my style advice with you and I encourage you all to join me in finding new trends this summer in addition to checking out my posts every Tuesday to see what’s new!
