STYLE GURU BIO: Natalie Hopkins

Hey there Fashionista/os! My name is Natalie Hopkins and I am a sophomore at Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee. I’m double majoring in international studies and business, so I’ve had plenty of opportunities to tailor my academics to a fashion focus. I am beyond excited to get started as a Style Guru this summer.

I spent my high school years in Nashville, but a couple of months ago my family moved down to Savannah, Georgia. As nervous as I was to be coming home for the summer to a place that wasn’t quite “home”, I am thrilled to explore my new city and discover all of the things it has to offer! I am especially excited to get a glimpse of all the fashionable students at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). I am sad that I won’t be able to document Memphis and Rhodes fashion this summer, but I cannot wait to see what trendy styles SCAD students dream up!

My style has (thankfully) changed through the years, but I tend to revert back to my roots in easy, timeless staples. You will most often catch me in some sort of denim, something black and glamorous accessories. Memphis has influenced my style too, taking it from a more traditional Southern prep to a trendier, braver look that incorporates many aspects of  street style-chic.

Oscar Wilde said it best: “You cannot be overdressed or overeducated.” I live by this motto, and hopefully you will see it in my posts this summer! I am here to capture Fashionistas/os in Savannah, Memphis, and anywhere else my summer travels might take me!  Be sure to check out my posts each month for the best summer style tips.
