Hi, my name is Naomi and I am a shopaholic. The first step is admitting it and I think the second step is to use my constant craving for fashion and addiction to clothes for the greater good of all college students—by being a CollegeFashionista Style Guru, of course.
I’m so excited to join the team this fall helping you find inspiration with my WHAT TO WEAR stories. I think we can all agree that the one thing more frustrating than writer’s block and YouTube commercials is picking out an outfit. So hopefully the many stylish Fashionistas on my campus will be able to eliminate this struggle.
I’m a budding journalist, entering my senior year at the University of Guelph-Humber in Toronto. The University of Guelph-Humber is one of the tiniest universities you will come across in Canada, with just over 3,000 full-time students coming in and out of our four-story building. Luckily, we’re located right beside (and attached by a bridge to) one of the country’s biggest college campuses, the Humber Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning (aka Humber College). So while this commuter school does see a lot of sweatpants and UGGs take up its halls, there are still a significant amount of stop-what-you-are-doing, make-you-look-twice, jaw dropping outfits seen on campus.
When I’m not shopping in the mall, I’m working in the mall as a part-time sales associate. I’m someone who likes to stay busy so I’m also the editor of my school newspaper, an intern at Faze Magazine and I recently created a music-based website called Experienced Moments. Of course, like most kids these days tweeting has become a mandatory part of my morning, afternoon and evening ritual, so feel free to check me out online at @Naomi_ML.
This fall season I’m excited to see the short shorts and crop tops disappear to be replaced with sweaters, cardigans and boots. I have a newfound obsession with maxi skirts and love that it’s a piece that can easily transition from season to season. Items on my must-have list include a gold watch, graphic T-shirt, statement necklace and skater skirt.
You’ll definitely see some of these things on Fashionistas I come across this fall and I hope you’re as excited as I am for a very fashionable semester!
