STYLE GURU BIO: Morgan Kolakowski

What’s up Fashionistas/os! My name is Morgan Kolakowski and I am currently going into my sophomore year at Temple University. I am studying journalism with a focus in broadcast journalism. This is my first semester interning with CollegeFashionista and I couldn’t be more excited to get started!

I have always had an interest in fashion and try to keep up-to-date with all the new fashion trends each season. I work within the fashion industry as a model so I am immersed in all sorts of different styles and fashion ideas. I began modeling about four years ago, which is really when I started to fall in love with fashion.

When I try to put my style into a certain category, I struggle because I like to wear different things. This sort of fits my personality of constantly wanting something new to experience. Some days you will catch me in yoga pants with an oversized flannel, while other days you will catch me in a flirty dress with heels. Here I am wearing some of my summer favorites, including my high-waisted shorts, which seem to flatter all body shapes and my go-to heels that give me the boost I need without killing my feet.

Accessories are always the best finishing touch to any piece of clothing. I love pulling an outfit together by adding a trendy pair of sunglasses or a few rings and bracelets. I’m more into wearing different types of simple jewelry over one, big statement piece because I enjoy having a few accessories to add on to my outfit. Here I’m wearing a small cross-body bag, which is my typical day-to-day purse. I don’t usually carry a lot with me so a super light bag makes it easy to walk around the city with.

Everyone has their own go-to style and that is what makes fashion so much fun. It isn’t all uniform; there are so many different ways to wear things. I love getting style tips from scrolling down my social media feeds to people watching in the city. There is never a dull moment when it comes to fashion. So my motto is, “Wear what you want, how you want and whenever you want.” Who cares if it isn’t ‘in’ right now, you have the power to make it become a trend!
