STYLE GURU BIO: Mollina So

Hello Fashionistas/os! My name is Mollina So, and I am a freshman fashion merchandising major at Kent State University. I was born and raised in Kansas until I decided to move to attend Kent State University for its fashion program. Moving 1,000 miles away from home has been a wonderful experience, and I cannot wait for my experience with CollegeFashionista to begin!

My love for fashion started when I was young and watched the movie The Parent Trap on repeat. I would constantly get outfit inspiration from the twins Lindsay Lohan portrayed. I am pretty sure that I wore the same matching blazer, blouse and skirt set every day in first grade because I loved their style so much. Presently, I would describe my style as simple and chic. Throughout the year, I’ve been into decluttering and surrounding myself with pieces that only bring me joy. It is so much easier to get dressed in the morning now!

My dream closet would contain all neutral pieces because you can mix and match them for a completely different look for numerous occasions. Because if there’s one thing I learned in college, it is that comfort is key. I adore versatile pieces like this oversized black sweater and these high-waisted and plum colored jeggings from American Eagle Outfitters. I love having a few statement pieces like these adorable lace-up flats and necklace to make basic pieces more personalized.

I love that fashion is a way to express yourself, and it is something that changes every day. I hope that through my experience with CollegeFashionista, I’ll venture outside of my comfort zone while inspiring others to do the same! Nothing ventured, nothing gained, right?
