Going to college in Missoula, Montana, I always figured that a career in fashion simply wasn’t an option. Missoula is a fairly small town and although it is filled with stylish individuals, opportunities in fashion are scarce. Before my freshman year of college began, I put my interest in fashion aside and decided to major in Elementary Education. I figured I could stick to devouring fashion magazines and binge watching Beauty Guru’s on YouTube to get my fashion fix.
That all changed my first semester of college when I joined Trendsetters at the U, the University of Montana’s fashion blog. I met people with the same interests and goals that I had, got to brainstorm ideas for posts and participated in many photo shoots as well. It was through Trendsetters that I realized how much love I have for style and working with fashion; after that realization, I craved even more fashion in my life.
By the time spring semester came around, not only was I still involved with Trendsetters, but I was also interning as a Style Guru on CollegeFashionista for the very first time. Working with CollegeFashionista has given me the opportunity to pursue a future in fashion, the courage to approach complete strangers and the ability to believe in my own dreams.
I am currently a sophomore studying business who is addicted to Pinterest, oversized sweaters, cupcakes and anything high-waisted. When I’m not on the internet or style stalking Fashionistas on campus, I work at an adorable boutique and also film beauty/fashion/lifestyle YouTube videos with my sister. You could say that I kind of gave in to my fashion craving. I am so incredibly happy to be back for my third semester on CollegeFashionista and am extremely excited to see what this fall has in store!
