Hey there Fashionistas and Fashionistos! My name is Michaela Leung and I am a junior at Valdosta State University majoring in Mass Media and working on a Journalism Cross-Training Certificate. This is my third semester as a Style Guru and I am so excited to continue showing all of you the fashion on VSU’s campus!
I have always loved fashion. I view fashion as a way of self expression. I tend to lean toward dark colors like black, maroon, olive and gray, but I also love nudes and neutral colors. I also love shoes, especially Vans and boots. Winter is my favorite because I love all of the different cute booties from Chelsea Boots to platform boots. Since music is a big part of my life, it influences me in a lot of ways and fashion is no exception! I’m inspired a lot by the ‘90s alternative rock scene, particularly the grunge era. I also find fashion inspiration from iconic ‘90s shows and movies like Daria, Clueless, My So Called Life and many more!
I believe that everyone should dress the way that they you want to. Dress to showcase your personality, mood and wear what makes you feel comfortable and awesome. First and foremost, fashion is objective. Fashion is for the individual. If someone likes your outfit, that should just be a plus, not the entire goal.
I am so excited to spend another semester showcasing the fashion found here at VSU and I can’t wait to see the fashion on other campuses!
